This game also has the name of Punto Banco, since it is the player (Punto) who bets against the Banker (Banco). The magic number to get here is 9 points. A player can bet either on his own results or that of the Dealer. A player who acts as the dealer cannot bet on Punto. The Shoe (a device that holds several packs of cards) stays with the same player for as long as Banco wins. When Punto wins, the Shoe is passed to the next player. The Banco player has to pay the casino 5% of his or her winnings.
How to play
• The player gets two cards from the dealer, who also has two cards.
• The winning had comes closest to 9 points. Should both sides get 9, there is a re-deal.
• A 'Natural' is when the score reaches 8 or 9. A low score may allow the player to receive a third card, but this depends on casino rules
Rules
1) Only cards up to 9 value in the deck are used. Aces score one point.
2) Card suits are ignored. 3) Should card value reach double digits, only the right digit is counted - so 25 becomes 5.
